As Lead, Learning Architecture & AI Enablement, you'll own the strategy and systems behind GitLab's global learning ecosystem. You'll set the learning platform roadmap, design AI-powered learning experiences, and lead our enterprise AI fluency program from strategy through delivery.</p> <p>You'll combine hands-on experience with AI agents, intelligent workflows, and AI-native platform design with strong program management and cross-functional partnership. Your work will move GitLab beyond traditional learning management system infrastructure and build a scalable learning ecosystem that supports capability growth, measures impact, and connects with our broader enterprise technology stack.</p> <h2>What you’ll do</h2> <ul> <li value="1">Architect GitLab's AI-native learning ecosystem, including adaptive learning paths, coaching agents, bots, intelligent recommendations, and automated content workflows.</li> <li value="2">Lead GitLab's company-wide AI fluency and enablement strategy in partnership with the Enterprise AI team, from baseline literacy through builder capability.</li> <li value="3">Embed AI fluency into onboarding, leadership development, and role-specific learning pathways.</li> <li value="4">Own the multi-year learning platform strategy and roadmap, including platform evaluations, migrations, integrations, and capability expansions.</li> <li value="5">Drive operational excellence across the Talent Management & Development team by managing the product roadmap, release schedule, intake processes, documentation, automations, and cross-functional coordination.</li> <li value="6">Partner with People Technology as the technical lead for Talent Development, translating learner and business needs into architecture briefs and co-building agents, workflows, and platform integrations.</li> <li value="7">Partner with People Analytics to define measurement infrastructure and dashboards for learning engagement, AI adoption, behavior change, capability growth, and program return on investment.</li> <li value="8">Lead global compliance training and vendor management, including audit readiness, negotiations, renewals, quarterly business reviews, budgets, adoption targets, and investment cases.</li> </ul> <h2>What you’ll bring</h2> <ul> <li value="1">Experience leading enterprise-scale AI enablement or AI fluency programs at technology companies, with evidence of workforce adoption and capability growth.</li> <li value="2">Hands-on experience designing and deploying AI agents, building intelligent workflows, working with large language model application programming interfaces, and integrating AI capabilities into enterprise platforms.</li> <li value="3">Experience designing learning ecosystems that use AI for adaptive learning, intelligent recommendations, coaching, or automated content workflows.</li> <li value="4">Experience building and owning multi-year technology and program roadmaps, communicating tradeoffs, and making investment decisions based on outcomes.</li> <li value="5">Deep knowledge of learning technology ecosystems, including learning management system administration, platform evaluations, migrations, integrations, and vendor management.</li> <li value="6">Ability to translate talent and learner needs into clear technical requirements and work with engineers on application programming interfaces, data structures, and integration patterns.</li> <li value="7">Strong program management skills, including roadmaps, intake, release schedules, triage, documentation, and automation.</li> <li value="8">Experience with instructional design, adult learning principles, analytics, executive communication, and global compliance training.</li> </ul> <h2>About the team</h2> <p>The Talent Management & Development team builds the systems, programs, and learning experiences that help GitLab team members grow and contribute. This role will serve as an operational and technical lead across the team's work, partnering with Enterprise AI, People Technology, People Analytics, Legal, Security, and external vendors to create a scalable, measurable, and AI-native learning ecosystem.</p><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><p><em>The base salary range for this role’s listed level is currently for residents of the United States only.
