1Password is growing. We’ve surpassed $400M in ARR and we’re continuing to accelerate, earning a spot on the Forbes Cloud 100 for four years in a row and teaming up with iconic partners like Oracle Red Bull Racing. About 1Password At 1Password, we’re building the foundation for a safe, productive digital future. Our mission is to unleash employee productivity without compromising security by ensuring every identity is authentic, every application sign-in is secure, and every device is trusted. We innovated the market-leading enterprise password manager and pioneered Unified Access Management, a new cybersecurity category built for the way people and AI agents work today. As one of the most loved brands in cybersecurity, we take a human-centric approach in everything from product strategy to user experience. Over 180,000 businesses, from Fortune 100 leaders to the world’s most innovative AI companies, trust 1Password to help their teams securely adopt the SaaS and AI tools they need to do their best work. If you're excited about the opportunity to contribute to the digital safety of millions, to work alongside a team of curious, driven individuals, and to solve hard problems in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, then we want to hear from you. Come join us and help shape a safer, simpler digital future. We're looking for a Senior Atlassian Administrator to join our Enterprise Tools team. This role owns Jira and Statuspage today, with the Atlassian platform growing as 1Password does. You'll be responsible for the architecture, configuration, workflows, governance, and day-to-day health of these tools across 1Password's engineering and business orgs. You bring an AI builder mentality to the work, using the right tools to help you move faster, solve problems earlier, and build things that last. This is the kind of role where you're not just maintaining a system. You're shaping how people at 1Password work every day. How we’re using AI today Our Engineering, Product, and Design teams are thoughtfully integrating AI across the full software and product development lifecycle to move faster without sacrificing quality or security. In practice, that looks like engineers using AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate reviews and catch bugs earlier, product managers synthesizing user research at scale, and designers rapidly prototyping and iterating with AI-generated mockups. We approach AI the same way we approach security: with clear principles, human accountability at every consequential decision point, and rigorous evaluation before anything ships to customers. This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US. What we're looking for: 6+ years of hands-on Jira administration experience in a large-scale enterprise environment. Deep experience managing Atlassian Cloud Enterprise ecosystem, including an understanding of cloud architecture, product organizations and sandbox environments. Deep expertise in Jira configuration: workflows, issue type schemes, permission schemes, notification schemes, custom fields, screens, and components. Proven experience designing and governing Jira at scale, building standards for how teams use the platform. Strong Jira Automation skills. You can build complex automation rules, maintain them, and explain the trade-offs. Solid understanding of Jira REST API’s, webhooks, and basic scripting (e.g., python, javascript, groovy) for advanced integrations. Experience with Statuspage administration. Confluence and Jira Service Management experience is a plus. Excellent communication skills. You can explain a workflow decision to an engineering lead and a permissions change to a legal team, without using different brains for each. Experience aligning Atlassian configuration with corporate compliance and audit standards. Experience with vetting, implementing, and governing third-party marketplace apps (e.g., Scriptrunner, structure tools, advanced reporting) Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) principles. A bias toward simplicity and sustainability. You build configurations that teammates can understand, maintain, and hand off. A profound respect for security and privacy. You think about access controls before someone asks you to. What you can expect: Champion the strategy for clean data architecture and own the architecture, configuration, and governance of 1Password's Atlassian platform, starting with Jira and Statuspage. Participate in the company's Jira Council, a cross-functional governance group that keeps the platform aligned with organizational needs. You'll triage requests, assemble the right stakeholders, and drive decisions that balance platform integrity with how the business is evolving. Partner with engineering, product, IT, and security teams to understand how they work and build Atlassian platform solutions that fit the way people operate. Design and enforce Atlassian platform governance standards: project creation policies, workflow standards, naming conventions, field usage, and permission models. Build and maintain Jira automations to reduce manual work and improve data quality across the platform. Lead Atlassian tool onboarding for new teams and programs. Create training materials, run enablement sessions, and be the subject matter expert people trust to point them in the right direction. Own the Atlassian vendor relationship and help shape the platform roadmap as the suite expands. Identify technical debt, configuration drift, and process gaps. Build a backlog, prioritize it, and work through it. Partner with others in IT on integrations between Atlassian tools and other enterprise systems (e.g., Slack, Identity Providers, CI/CD pipelines, or CRM tools). Evaluate, manage, and audit third-party apps and plugins to ensure platform stability, performance, and security compliance. Document configurations, workflows, and decisions so the platform is maintainable by the broader team. Keep security and privacy front of mind across every configuration decision you make. At 1Password, we approach each individual's compensation with a promise of fair market value and internal equity commensurate with experience and specific skill set. This posting is for an existing vacancy. You’ll be part of a team that challenges the status quo, and is excited to experiment and iterate in search of the best solution. That said, 1Password is not for everyone . Our work is demanding, we strive for excellence, and the pace is fast. We need people who are keen to take on challenging problems, who seek feedback to grow, and who are driven to make an impact. If you're looking for a place where you can settle into a comfortable routine, this might not be the right fit for you. We’re looking for individuals who are proven experts in their fields, as well as those who are highly adaptable, can thrive in ambiguity and through change, are curious, and above all deliver results.
